CASE: Band of the inner case pierced and engraved with leafy scrolls, strapwork, birds with masks, rosette around screw hole for interior bell, plain hinged bezel and piston pendant.
Outer incorporating glade with seated classical female gesturing to solider with plumed helmet at feet and bearded man behind within C-scroll shell pierced border with apollo mask at pendant.

Label TextLike most watches from the mid-eighteenth century, the outer case on this watch is decorated with repoussé chasing while the inner case features a simple engraved design. On the outer case the central scene, framed by pierced scrollwork, probably represents a scene from the Aeneid.
