Label TextDutch painter Hieronymous Bosch (c. 1450-1516) is often considered to have been an inspiration to 20th-century Surrealist movement. His compositions are fascinating depictions of Hell and Biblical themes. Full of weird animals, including demons, and strange scenes, Bosch's pictures combined the beautiful with the disturbing. His most famous work is the altarpiece The Garden of Earthly Delights, ca. 1504, now at the Museo del Prado, in Madrid, Spain.
