DescriptionThe pitcher is printed and heightened in enamels on one side with portraits of Samuel Adams and John Hancock beneath a small monument bearing the intials "GW." The scene is surrounded by the accompanying title "Columbias Sons inspir'd by Freedoms Flame, Live in the Annals of Immortal Fame" above, and on the other side there is a soldier in Continental uniform, a harbor, and shipping scene surrounded by the accompanying title "Succefs to AMERICA whose MILITIA is better than Standing ARMIES." Beneath the spout there is an adaption of the Great Seal of the United States with the date "1802."On View
