Label TextThis illustrated page was originally published in the Nuremberg Bible, a two-volume German version of the scriptures published by Anton Koberger in what, at the time, was one of the largest printing establishments in northern Europe. There is another copy of this page at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. Minor differences in the two images indicate that the man (or woman) who hand colored the Utica impression was a more competent colorist and took greater care in the shading of the forms.
