Label TextBorn in Nebraska, Prudence Burg received her undergraduate degree at Syracuse University and her Masters of Fine Arts degree at the State University of Iowa. She returned to Central New York and was head of the art department at Cazenovia Junior College (as Cazenovia College was once called) for many years.
This wartime scene captures the boredom, the small human exchanges and the fascination of people-watching while sitting in a waiting room. Burg once stated, "I have always loved to paint people. My landscapes are merely an excuse for the people in them."
