Label TextOriginally developed in eighteenth-century Southern Germany and Austria, miniature examples of this pendulette clock form became popular novelties. Commonly made in Austria, they were "zappler" clocks, a term referring to the fact that the pendulum, located in front of the dial, swings rapidly.
