DescriptionA three-piece set comprising an askos-form ale jug/pitcher and a pair of baluster-form canns (or mugs). All three pieces have spot-hammered surfaces and rims with an applied motif of cascading ale drips highlighted with copper. Gold hops and branches with spiraling tendrils amongst copper beetles, snails, and dragonflies ornament the body of each piece. The pitcher's hinged cover is chased with a spiral motif and has a copper vine-formed thumb piece. The handle has a conforming chased spiral terminal. The canns also feature mokume moths and gilt interiors. On View
