Label TextIn Division Street, artist Jerome Witkin allows a story to unfold over three canvases, in the manner of a film or a comic book. Witkin created this painting from an early memory he had of his father moving out in the midst of a violent argument with Witkin's mother. Witkin painted expressively, with aggressive brushstrokes and acidic green paint, to underline feelings of heightened emotions.
